Now accepting applications for part-time/as-needed employment this fall:

Staff Mission:

To provide exceptional customer service and ensure that each customer knows that they are a respected member of our ‘In the Loop Yarn Shop’ community.

Employee is responsible for:

• checking out customers and maintaining customer data
• assisting customers in the selection of yarn, projects, books and tools
• answering knit & crochet related questions and fixing knit & crochet mistakes
• receiving and labeling new inventory
• assisting with merchandising of inventory
• restocking shelves – yarn, needles and notions
• maintaining tidiness and cleanliness of store

Applicant must have:

• previous retail or customer service experience
• a warm and welcoming demeanor
• ability to multi-task and complete a number of small projects while also assisting customers with yarn selection and knit and crochet help
• knowledge of both knit & crochet
• experienced Ravelry user
• ability to assist with pattern reading and correcting mistakes
• knowledge of yarn gauge, fibre characteristics and pattern terminology
• ability to work on major holidays (i.e., day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve)
• spinning experience a plus

NICU preemie hats and Chemo Cap donations on-going

Thanks to everyone who has participated by knitting or crocheting NICU preemie hats and chemo caps for our local babies and cancer patients. These donations are on-going, so feel free to donate finished caps or yarn anytime.
